I apologize for my lateness and sharing this with you all. So as I sit on the bus to New York I decided it’s time.
As you may know, Stranded Mermaid is one of my favorite finds. Actually they are probably my favorite find ever. And here’s why…their music invigorates me and fills me with happiness. Every time I hear a song from them I want to escape into a musical whimsical landscape that is created by the sounds that come from their mouths and instruments. Thank you guys for continuing to take me to that place.
So now that grad school has started and my move to Boston is completely. I am going to try to get back on track with Swedes are Sweet. And last night, I finally got the pleasure to receive my logo created by the awesome Kathy Lopez. I will be adding that to the site later, but for a sneak peek please visit my Facebook page.
So back to the music…
Here’s a summary of what’s come out since I’ve been on a break.
Last night, Swedish Electronic “noir-pop” group DNKL released a great new track. Smooth tempo to get your Wednesday off to great start.
Club 8 – Love Dies
A sweet ballad embraced by delicate vocals. Club 8 is always a treat!
Iamamiwhoami – The Deadlock
Oh how I’d love to see Iamamwhoami live but for now I will enjoy this presentation of their amazing new song. Love it!
This is all I have time for now, but I promise I’ll post more soon.
It’s Tuesday morning and I had my super human energy filled breakfast, my birthday is coming and I am ready to have some bouncing dance moments at desk. So many songs have come out within the last month but I’ve been lacking on the posts. My fault and I promise come Mid September Swedes Are Sweet will be back in full force. And you will have all the Scandinavian delights you could ever hope for! So here is a recap of whats been going on across the ocean. It’s been quite a summer for poppy dance hits.
Last week, Moonbabies released a new dancey tune to uplift my soul and get me ready for some action! There music will definitely be on my birthday party play list. It plays makes me feel good inside!
For all those who love smooth indie pop, This is Head released a new single and yet again they do not fail to fill my heart with joy.
For those of you who are more kean to guitar and bass, and want a little bit of passionate rock in their lives. Caviare Days is for you…
And let me give a shout out to the Liv who lives across the pond who is always eagerly sending me her finds. You are awesome!
Liv introduced me to Nadi Nair out of Gothenburg who mixes a bit of eccentric vibes with soulful vocals. Her groovy beats making me want to dance slow banshee style. I’d show you but I think I’d scare you.
Liv also gave me the heads up on the song below. Most of you are familiar with the Teddybears. But I am not talking about the soft furry kind you held to go to fall asleep as a child. I’m talking about the groovy musical Grammy award winning kind. Recently, they have been back at it bringing groovy hits to enchant our ears.
So much is going on in my life…moving, getting into grad school, things coming together that I’ve had to take a little hiatus from the blog, but I can’t pass up the chance to share Eternal Death’s video for one of my favorite songs “Cry”. Eternal Death will definitely be blaring from my speakers as I begin my packing tomorrow.
I didn’t hear much of this song until the words “Oh, I like this came out of my mouth” When I bounce and sway in my chair half way through a song, you know I’m in love. I can’t believe that they have been making music since 2009 and I’m barely finding out about them. This is the perfect song for a Monday to bring cheer into your life and smile on your face.
It’s electro pop Friday again! Here’s a little delightfully poptastic song for you to get your Friday groove going.
When all else fails on Throwback Thursday, I turn to Abba. This takes me back to my last Stockholm trip where Jackie and I visited the Abba museum.
It’s the middle of the week and you can begin to start dreaming about the weekend with this beautifully dreamy indie pop song as the backdrop. Whimsical, peaceful and beautiful Tiny Union gives us their debut single that gives hope of great music to come.
If you’re a fan of Damien Rice, you’ll love Albin Eidhagen. Simplistic acoustic guitar and piano that seems to effortlessly flow with the natural background of the video.
I saw Mapei back with Lykke Li and she was fully of soul and spunk. With her new song, she brings just that to the song. High energy beats that live you feeling exuberant.
