Today I am throwing back to a band I always tend to forget is Swedish, The Soundtrack of Our Lives. From their album “Behind the Music” from 2001, the song “Sister Surround” is one of my favorite songs to dance to. The band gained popularity in the United States in 2002 when they joined Oasis on Tour and their album was coined “the best album to come out in the last six years” by Noel Gallagher. Unfortunately for us, the band has since parted ways. Hopefully they will reunite one day and give us some new tunes to dance to.

Happy Birthday BFF!
It’s my BFF’s birthday and in true Swedes are Sweet fashion, I dedicate my blog to those in my life whose special day it is by posting their favorite Swedish song. Sahara Hotnights are just as rocking as she is. Happy Birthday Punk Rock Girl!
Summer In Our Hearts
With Summer coming to an end (unless you’re in Southern California), I have created a special playlist to feature some of my favorite songs. I’m hoping that with this list you can keep summer going in your heart and will warm you in the fall and winter months ahead. Also, it features some songs by artists on this site that have I have not posted on the blog. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have over the past few days as it’s gone through many changes just within the last hour. See this as a Thank You for all my followers new and old. You guys have sure made me feel special the past few days.
Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery
All it took was someone to light a little fire under my ass to make me want to bring you guys a better blog and an easier way to enjoy the music that I love and hold dear to my heart. I dedicate hours of my time to bringing out what I feel is some of the best music in the world. This blog is my heart, my soul, this “music is my boyfriend”(To quote CSS from Brazil). I will continue to devote hours to bring you sweet sounds for all your pretty ears.
As you seen yesterday, I now have a Spotify account dedicated strictly to Swedes are Sweet. The playlists are divided into each month. I also realized not everyone has access to Spotify and you have to sign up to listen. So I have created a Souncloud account that will have playlists for you to access without having to sign up for their website. The playlists are not completed yet, but I will have them done soon. Please enjoy by clicking the link below.
Swedes are Sweet Has It’s Own Spotify Account
Last week, I quickly scrambled a playlist of songs on this site from my personal spotify account and I promised that I would soon have a break down of posts by month. So as promised, I have started breaking down the playlists by month on Spotify. It’s currently up to date and will be growing. I will include the new songs as I add them to the blog. That way if you want to listen to the music, you no longer need to head over to youtube and it’s all in one place.

This is Head
I’ve been on vacation and not really taking time to research new stuff to give to you guys. So I am being lazy and doing a sorta repeat. Yesterday, I was fortunate enough to pick up This is Head’s on vinyl. So I am posting them again for those of you who missed them way back when I started the blog in April. Here are two of my favorites of the album
Chirping – A Million Lux
Are you looking for something like Coldplay that is not Coldplay and is positively better than Coldplay? Well you’ve come to the right place cause I found a band for you. Dreamy guitar, lovely lyrics, soothing melodies. Chirping is a great! But don’t take my word for it, go listen for yourself!
Beat the Heart
Just when I think I can’t find new music for this blog, I stumble upon awesomeness such as Beat the Heart. And of course, they are one damn good looking band. This song makes me feel happy. This band makes me feel happy, and that is why I’m posting more than one song.
Monday Kills – Happy (Pharrell Williams cover)
Sometimes I get in the mood for a little pop punk. Actually, this has been the only version of “Happy” that I have been able to listen to multiple times. Add in a fun time video full of silly dance moves and you get my attention. Monday Kills from Jönköping, takes the song and adds a little pop rock twist making it listen worthy in my opinion. Good job guys!
Mando Diao – Long Before Rock and Roll
Throwback Thursday again, and today to a band that I always seem to forget that they are Swedish. This could possibly because they sound like they come straight out of the U.K. But nope they are Swedish. Their sound blends elements of rock, brit pop, soul, garage rock and pop to create something great and fun. Their sassiness makes me want to dance.
