I know I keep changing my favorite Lykke Li song, but tonight I am seeing her for the second time at Radio City Music Hall. I am beyond excited as she is one of the artists who has touched my heart the most over the past few years. So today I will post my current favorite Lykke song and a Lykke playlist I made on Spotify with my favorite songs.
Natten – Taxi Taxi
Smooth grooves from Natten to take you into the weekend. No much a dancey hit but something to chill to as we go into the weekend after a long week of work.
The Concretes – Knck Knck
I’ve waited a while to post this since my first Throwback Thursday was a Concretes song. I can’t explain how much I love this song. I also may have overplayed it on a few days. One thing I adore about the Concretes is the relatable twist of lyrics. Unless you listen closely you won’t hear it. You think their songs mean one thing, but after a few listens you realize it’s something different. Knck Knck is a perfect example. Give it a try, I’d love to hear what you guys think.
Tove Lo – Thousand Miles
A few weeks ago Tove Lo released a new song, and tonight I will get to see her perform. She is on the rise to become an international pop sensation as VH1 has featured her as as one of their artist to know. This makes me super happy because she was one of the first artists that I featured on the blog. You can pre-order the album on iTunes now.
Korallreven – Death Is Not For Us
Korallreven is returning with a new album to fulfill all your synth pop wants and needs. “Death Is Not For Us” features a dancey beat with tribal landscape sound. Look out for their new album “Second Comin” which is being released November 4th which will feature a song with I Break Horses’ Maria Lindén.
Vildhjärta/na – Lydia
Dreamy pop from Vildhjärta/na to start off your Monday. Don’t let the visually stimulating video distract you too much as you slave away at your jobs. I’m very excited to hear more for these guys.
Duvchi – Whole Life Tour
This may have been released a year ago, but it’s too good to pass up and too soon for a Throwback Thursday. The only qualm I have with it is the ending but it is still simply beautiful.
Name the Pet – To Remind Me
Friday dance party and we are ready to go. Name the Pet released this song four months ago and I’ve very glad I stumbled upon it.
Throwback Thursday – The Knife – One Hit
On Monday night, I was preparing my dinner and this song came on. It clicked in my head that I haven’t featured the Knife quite enough, and how I am sad that they are coming to an end. One of the best live shows I have ever had the chance to see. If you don’t believe me, they have plenty of their performances on Youtube.
Death in the Afternoon – Let’s Talk
Last week, Swedish Duo Death in the Afternoon released this awesome tune as the first single on their upcoming record. Dancey grooves to get you through the midweek.
