All it took was someone to light a little fire under my ass to make me want to bring you guys a better blog and an easier way to enjoy the music that I love and hold dear to my heart. I dedicate hours of my time to bringing out what I feel is some of the best music in the world. This blog is my heart, my soul, this “music is my boyfriend”(To quote CSS from Brazil). I will continue to devote hours to bring you sweet sounds for all your pretty ears.
As you seen yesterday, I now have a Spotify account dedicated strictly to Swedes are Sweet. The playlists are divided into each month. I also realized not everyone has access to Spotify and you have to sign up to listen. So I have created a Souncloud account that will have playlists for you to access without having to sign up for their website. The playlists are not completed yet, but I will have them done soon. Every time I see that School has released a new song I get excited. This is an album I have been anticipating for the past few months. They continue to not let us down with their new song “Like You”.
I am excited to feature the new Star Horse song. This song is absolutely beautiful and to quote an email from the band, “it’s time to bring someone with you through the passage into autumn’s gloomy shimmer” So head over to Bandcamp to download the song for free.
A few months back I featured Merely, and I craved more. Well here is more, and let me tell you it was well worth the wait. I can’t wait for the album to be released next week!
I first featured Luha months ago when I started the blog. I’ve been anticipating a new release for quite some time and she finally delivered. She made it well worth the wait. This song is absolutely beautiful and will lullaby you into a splendor. This song touched me deep in my heart where I am soft.
I love the dynamic sound of this song. Dreamy vocals combined with an eerie, echoing melody make this song close to perfection. Released back and May, Blanca is the debut single from Malmö’s Hey Elbow. It’s hard to believe that sound is coming from just three people. I will anticipate their full album release set to come out sometime this summer. It’s been a while since a band has gotten me this excited to hear more!
Yesterday, I posted the side project of Leo and Alice so I might as well feature the actual band they came from since their recently released a video from their single “Abyss” released last year.
I love School, and no I am not talking about the educational institution. I’m talking about the amazing band out of Göteborg. I wrote about School back in April when I first started my blog, but they are another band like Blessa from Sheffield that I can’t get enough of. They are also another band who puts out teasers making me want more. I was fumbling around at work trying to figure out what to listen to and I hit random and their song “So Long” came on. I know we are only half way through the years but I already know this will make my top of 2014. I am always scared to hear live recordings out of fear the band won’t sound great. But School sounds amazing. Identical to what their recordings sound like. I love it so much, I hope you can read the excitement and passion in my voice!
This is such a cool track and awesome video. From Stockholm, Last Lynx is a great fusion of rock and pop. Hope your ears are pleased.
