Catching up with Depeche Mode? No…Catching up with Swedes are Sweet!

It’s Tuesday morning and I had my super human energy filled breakfast, my birthday is coming and I am ready to have some bouncing dance moments at desk.   So many songs have come out within the last month but I’ve been lacking on the posts.  My fault and I promise come Mid September Swedes Are Sweet will be back in full force.  And you will have all the Scandinavian delights you could ever hope for!  So here is a recap of whats been going on across the ocean.  It’s been quite a summer for poppy dance hits.

Last week, Moonbabies released a new dancey tune to uplift my soul and get me ready for some action! There music will definitely be on my birthday party play list.  It plays makes me feel good inside!

For all those who love smooth indie pop, This is Head released a new single and yet again they do not fail to fill my heart with joy.

For those of you who are more kean to guitar and bass, and want a little bit of passionate rock in their lives.  Caviare Days is for you…

And let me give a shout out to the Liv who lives across the pond who is always eagerly sending me her finds.  You are awesome!

Liv introduced me to Nadi Nair out of Gothenburg who mixes a bit of eccentric vibes with soulful vocals.  Her groovy beats making me want to dance slow banshee style.  I’d show you but I think I’d scare you.

Liv also gave me the heads up on the song below.  Most of you are familiar with the Teddybears.  But I am not talking about the soft furry kind you held to go to fall asleep as a child.  I’m talking about the groovy musical Grammy award winning kind.  Recently, they have been back at it bringing groovy hits to enchant our ears.

Beläten – Pale Eyes

I learned a new term when I stumbled upon this treat for your ears, Gothgaze. I was not quite sure how I would feel about this but I quite like it.

Imitation is the Sincerest Form of Flattery

All it took was someone to light a little fire under my ass to make me want to bring you guys a better blog and an easier way to enjoy the music that I love and hold dear to my heart.  I dedicate hours of my time to bringing out what I feel is some of the best music in the world.  This blog is my heart, my soul, this “music is my boyfriend”(To quote CSS from Brazil).  I will continue to devote hours to bring you sweet sounds for all your pretty ears.

As you seen yesterday, I now have a Spotify account dedicated strictly to Swedes are Sweet.  The playlists are divided into each month.  I also realized not everyone has access to Spotify and you have to sign up to listen.  So I have created a Souncloud account that will have playlists for you to access without having to sign up for their website.  The playlists are not completed yet, but I will have them done soon. Please enjoy by clicking the link below.

Call me – Change (Piano Version)

So there are two versions of this song, the synth poppy greatness that got first grabbed my  attention a few months ago and a piano version.  Just ethereal vocals and beautiful simplistic piano, Call Me’s new song change is magnificently glorious.  For a whole week I debated what version I was going to post and finally decided to go with the piano version.  It’s raw, lovely and hits me in my little heart.

Sea Lion – Sanna’s Song

It’s like Mazzy Star met the Cranes and replaced Hope Sandoval with Alison Shaw and out of it came Sea Lion. From Göteborg, Sea Lion is a band I know a lot of my friends would enjoy. When I found them, it was like I had found my lost treasure. I’m mesmerized by Linn Osterberg’s voice. It’s absolutely beautiful and the melodies is simply divine. I also can’t put into words how great her covers are. It’s like you’re listening to a totally different song.  When everyone’s raving about First Aid Kit, they need to give Sea Lion some attention!  I love this!

School – So Long

I love School, and no I am not talking about the educational institution. I’m talking about the amazing band out of Göteborg. I wrote about School back in April when I first started my blog, but they are another band like Blessa from Sheffield that I can’t get enough of. They are also another band who puts out teasers making me want more. I was fumbling around at work trying to figure out what to listen to and I hit random and their song “So Long” came on. I know we are only half way through the years but I already know this will make my top of 2014. I am always scared to hear live recordings out of fear the band won’t sound great. But School sounds amazing. Identical to what their recordings sound like. I love it so much, I hope you can read the excitement and passion in my voice!
