It’s my BFF’s birthday and in true Swedes are Sweet fashion, I dedicate my blog to those in my life whose special day it is by posting their favorite Swedish song. Sahara Hotnights are just as rocking as she is. Happy Birthday Punk Rock Girl!

Swedes are Sweet Has It’s Own Spotify Account
Last week, I quickly scrambled a playlist of songs on this site from my personal spotify account and I promised that I would soon have a break down of posts by month. So as promised, I have started breaking down the playlists by month on Spotify. It’s currently up to date and will be growing. I will include the new songs as I add them to the blog. That way if you want to listen to the music, you no longer need to head over to youtube and it’s all in one place.

Chirping – A Million Lux
Are you looking for something like Coldplay that is not Coldplay and is positively better than Coldplay? Well you’ve come to the right place cause I found a band for you. Dreamy guitar, lovely lyrics, soothing melodies. Chirping is a great! But don’t take my word for it, go listen for yourself!
Beat the Heart
Just when I think I can’t find new music for this blog, I stumble upon awesomeness such as Beat the Heart. And of course, they are one damn good looking band. This song makes me feel happy. This band makes me feel happy, and that is why I’m posting more than one song.
Goat – Words
Yay!!!!! A new Goat Song. I am so excited this is finally available for me to listen to on U.S. soil. I was so bummed the other day when they announced its release and Spotify denied my ears the of this awesomeness. Goat is probably my favorite psych rock by far! Still really bummed that I missed them play because of being sick. Goat please come baaaaahhhhhckk! (I hope you guys got my joke there). I will now go dance around my office like a banshee!
Lady Banana – Wall of Cheese
A wall of cheese sounds rather delightful, and so does the song. I still don’t get why this song is called Wall of Cheese, but this is upbeat, rocky and great garage rock. Of course, this indie greatness comes out of Göteborg. As the end of the song says, I can listen to this “Again and again and again.”
Mando Diao – Long Before Rock and Roll
Throwback Thursday again, and today to a band that I always seem to forget that they are Swedish. This could possibly because they sound like they come straight out of the U.K. But nope they are Swedish. Their sound blends elements of rock, brit pop, soul, garage rock and pop to create something great and fun. Their sassiness makes me want to dance.
Toi let – Lord of the Ring
The side project of YAST, Toi Let from Malmö is awesome. Though their name brings thoughts of bodily wastes, their songs don’t represent that at all. They recently released their EP titled “Lord of the Ring” You can check it out on SoundCloud below.
I’m really digging the guitar in their songs. I also love the shifts between songs from fast or slow to vocals or instrumental. All and all this is a pretty solid EP for a side project. Let them take you ears on a journey they will thank you for.
School – So Long
I love School, and no I am not talking about the educational institution. I’m talking about the amazing band out of Göteborg. I wrote about School back in April when I first started my blog, but they are another band like Blessa from Sheffield that I can’t get enough of. They are also another band who puts out teasers making me want more. I was fumbling around at work trying to figure out what to listen to and I hit random and their song “So Long” came on. I know we are only half way through the years but I already know this will make my top of 2014. I am always scared to hear live recordings out of fear the band won’t sound great. But School sounds amazing. Identical to what their recordings sound like. I love it so much, I hope you can read the excitement and passion in my voice!
